The LPWS2011
Lineup Explained

Three slide designs. Three sizes. One standard of craftsmanship. Here is how to find the build that fits the way you shoot.

3 Slide Designs Chiraq · Urban Warfare · Savant
3 Frame Sizes 5" · 4.6" · 4.25"
416 SS Slides 4140 chrome-moly frames

Every LPWS2011 is built from the same foundation: 416 stainless slide, 4140 chrome-moly frame, hand-fitted at zero tolerance in Seguin, Texas. The difference between models comes down to two decisions — which slide design fits the way you shoot, and which size fits how you carry and compete. This page breaks down both.

// 01  —  Slide Designs

Three Designs. One Standard.

Every LPWS2011 slide is machined from 416 stainless billet. The design determines the aesthetic, grip character, and weight profile — not the quality.

// Aggressive
Chiraq

Deep high-traction knurling across the front and rear of the slide, paired with a distinctive top window cut that reduces reciprocating mass and gives the platform an unmistakable identity. Built for the shooter who demands maximum grip on every rack, press check, and reload — and doesn’t mind letting the gun speak for itself.

Bull barrel — standard
Deep knurling front & rear
Top window cut — standard
Porting standard on all configs
// Tactical
Urban Warfare

Strategic lightening cuts paired with sharp, no-nonsense cocking serrations. The Urban Warfare profile is engineered around speed — reducing reciprocating mass for faster cycling while maintaining the grip purchase needed for reliable manipulation under stress. Purpose-built for duty use, competition, and the shooter who runs the gun hard.

Bull barrel — standard
Strategic lightening ports
Top window cut — standard
Porting standard on all configs
// Refined
Savant

Streamlined, precision-cut serrations front and rear with a top window cut for reduced reciprocating mass — the same standard as the Chiraq and Urban Warfare, delivered in a cleaner, lower-profile package. The Savant is for the shooter who wants everything the platform offers without the aggressive visual. Understated by design. Uncompromising in execution.

// What All Three Share Every LPWS2011 slide — Chiraq, Urban Warfare, and Savant — comes standard with a top window cut and porting. These are not upgrades. They are part of the standard specification on every design. What separates the three is serration style, knurling character, and aesthetic identity — not the build standard.
// Occluded Shooting — All Platforms Every LPWS2011 is built around a red dot. If the dot ever goes down, all platforms support occluded shooting — a technique where you superimpose the optic housing over your target with both eyes open. You are target-focused; as you move the gun up, the housing enters your field of view. No dot needed. Your brain merges the two images and you can still place effective shots on target. Less precise than a live dot, but fully functional in a defensive situation. This is not an Island Boy feature — it applies to every LPWS2011 regardless of slide design or size.
// 02  —  Frame Sizes

Three Sizes. Every Mission.

Size determines barrel velocity, optic window position, and how the gun rides in a holster. Every size is available across all three slide designs.

Government
5"
Full Length

The original 2011 specification. Full-length slide and barrel deliver the longest dwell time for consistent cycling, the highest muzzle velocity in the lineup, and the most forward optic position for a wider field of view through your red dot. The natural choice for USPSA Open and Limited competitors, and the platform the Island Boy is built on.

Competition · Range · Open Division 3-Port Standard
Mid-Length Coming Soon
4.6"
Mid-Length

A purpose-built size that splits the difference between the full Government and the compact Commander. The 4.6" profile offers a shorter, faster-handling package with a marginal reduction in barrel velocity compared to the 5" — without the compromises of the Commander barrel length. Available across all four slide designs: Chiraq, Urban Warfare, Savant, and Island Boy.

Duty · Carry · Versatile Platform 3-Port Standard
Commander
4.25"
Compact

The compact end of the LPWS lineup. The 4.25" Commander profile is the fastest from a holster, the easiest to conceal, and the most maneuverable in close quarters. Built for the duty carrier who needs a full-capability 2011 in a package that doesn’t fight the holster. Same 416 stainless slide, same 4140 frame, same hand-fit standard — shorter and quicker.

Carry · Duty · Limited-10 2-Port Standard
// Porting by Size — Chiraq, Urban Warfare & Savant Porting configuration is determined by barrel length. The 5" Government and 4.6" Mid-Length both run a 3-port barrel as standard. The 4.25" Commander runs a 2-port barrel as standard. All configurations can be ordered non-ported at no change in price — note it in your order. Island Boy porting is covered separately in Section 04.
// Choosing Your Size Building a dedicated competition gun? Start at the 5". Building a duty or carry platform where concealability matters? The 4.25" Commander. Not sure yet, or want the best of both? The 4.6" mid-length is the answer — you gain meaningful holster speed and a shorter overall package with a minimal reduction in barrel velocity.
// Standard on All Frames Every LPWS2011 frame — regardless of size — includes a Picatinny tactical rail for weapon-mounted lights and accessories. This is not an add-on. It is machined into every frame as part of the standard specification.

// 04  —  Island Boy

The Island Boy Platform

Every Island Boy runs the Chiraq slide. The island barrel is what makes it different from everything else in the lineup.

// What Is an Island Barrel? In a standard 2011, the optic rides the slide via the Atlas Optic Plate — it reciprocates rearward on every shot. An island barrel features a top rib that passes through a cutout in the slide. The rib stays stationary while the slide cycles around it, giving your dot a stable, non-moving reference point through the entire firing cycle. The result: faster target reacquisition, tighter split times, and a flatter-shooting platform at high round counts.

The Atlas Optic Plate is included in all LPWS builds. It is not included in the Island Boy Kit — source and install separately if building from the kit.

Performance
5" Government  ·  4.25" Commander

Three precisely machined barrel ports redirect propellant gas upward, countering muzzle rise at the moment of ignition. The result is measurably flatter tracking and faster follow-up shots without the aggressive gas bleed of the 6-port. The most versatile configuration in the lineup — it runs reliably across a wide range of loads and spring weights without tuning. The standard choice for most shooters.

// Runs reliably with standard spring weights and most 9mm loads
// 6-Port
Extreme
5" Government only

Six ports bleed gas aggressively for maximum recoil mitigation. Built for competition shooters who are tuning a specific load and spring combination for peak performance. The 6-port will deliver the flattest possible shooting experience in the lineup — but it requires you to match your recoil spring weight and ammunition to the port configuration. Underpowered loads or an incompatible spring weight will cause cycling issues.

// May require spring and ammo tuning — not recommended for defensive setups
// Prefer No Porting? Any LPWS2011 — Island Boy or otherwise — can be ordered without porting at no change in price. Porting is standard on every build, but if you prefer a non-ported barrel for a carry setup, defensive use, or personal preference, note it in your order notes at checkout. No additional charge. No lead time impact.
// 05  —  Variant 7

Variant 7 — Build It Your Way

The fully configurable LPWS2011. Every variable in the build is yours to choose. Starting at $3,999.98  ·  6–12 month lead time  ·  9mm  ·  Optic not included.

// What Makes Variant 7 Different Every other model in the LPWS lineup is a defined configuration — a specific slide, a specific size, a specific finish. The Variant 7 is the exception. You select every variable from the ground up: slide pattern, frame size, barrel spec, grip, trigger, optic plate, finish, and magazines. The result is a pistol that is yours in every meaningful sense. Same hand-fitted standard, same materials, same craftsmanship — configured entirely to your requirements.

Common Questions

Both are aggressive, high-performance slide designs — and both share the same standard features: top window cut and porting included. The difference is character. The Chiraq leads with grip: deep knurling and a bold look that makes no apologies. The Urban Warfare leads with speed: strategic lightening ports and serrations cut for fast, sure manipulation under stress. They perform identically in practice — the choice comes down to how the gun needs to feel in your hands and what role it’s filling.

The 10mm platform is currently on hold. We may bring it back — when we do, it will be announced to the community first. Contact us at legionprecision@gmail.com if you want to be notified when 10mm availability returns.

The 4.6" is a new size engineered to bridge the gap between the 5" Government and the 4.25" Commander. It offers the shorter, faster-handling profile of a compact build with a minimal reduction in barrel velocity compared to the full-length. It will be available across Chiraq, Urban Warfare, Savant, and Island Boy. Email legionprecision@gmail.com to be notified when slots open.

Yes, without exception. Every LPWS2011 — regardless of slide design or size — is built on a 4140 chrome-moly frame and a 416 stainless steel slide, machined to zero tolerance and hand-fitted in Seguin, Texas. The 4.25" Commander ships to the same specification, the same fitting process, and the same lifetime transferable warranty as the 5" Government. Size changes the package — not the standard.

For Open and Limited divisions, the 5" Government is the standard choice — maximum barrel velocity, smoothest cycling, and the most consistent muzzle energy for making power factor. For Limited-10 or Carry Optics where holster speed matters more, the 4.25" Commander is a legitimate option. The 4.6" mid-length will be competitive in both roles when available. Not sure? Carl will talk through your division and load setup before you commit.

Lead times vary by model and current order volume. Ready-to-Ship and Quick-Ship configurations are available for faster delivery on select models. Full custom builds run longer depending on configuration and finish. Professional Installation Required
Some gunsmithing and minor fitting may be required to ensure proper function and safety. Legion Precision Weapon Systems strongly recommends that all installation and fitting be completed by a competent, qualified gunsmith. Improper installation may result in damage to the component, the firearm, or may create an unsafe condition.
