The Chiraq is LPWS's flagship slide machining pattern โ designed in-house, CNC machined in Seguin, Texas, and built for the Atlas Gun Works Perfect Zero DS1911 platform. Here is what the pattern is, why it was designed, what the CNC specs look like, and how it compares to the Urban Warfare and Savant cuts.
The Chiraq is a slide machining pattern developed by LPWS for the DS1911 and 2011 platform. It features aggressive front and rear serrations, a topside lightening cut with a sculpted relief channel, and side cocking serrations machined at a specific angle for positive grip under speed. Every cut is functional โ nothing on the Chiraq slide is decorative.
The pattern was developed specifically for the Atlas Gun Works Perfect Zero DS1911 build kit slide. The machining is done on LPWS CNC equipment in Seguin, Texas. Each slide is inspected after machining to verify serration depth, cut geometry, and optic plate rail fit before it leaves the shop.
The custom 2011 market has three categories of slide work: production cuts from major manufacturers, generic aftermarket patterns, and custom house designs. Production cuts are functional but identical across thousands of guns. Generic aftermarket patterns are available but carry no shop identity.
LPWS designed the Chiraq to be identifiable on the line at a match. A shooter running an LPWS build should have a slide that looks like it came from one specific shop โ not a catalog. The Chiraq pattern is that identity. It is also designed to be functional first: the serration depth, spacing, and angle were developed through testing under competition conditions, not drawn on a screen and sent to a mill.
Chiraq slides are machined on LPWS CNC milling equipment in Seguin, Texas. The toolpaths are run from LPWS-developed CAM files โ not outsourced programming. Each slide is fixtured individually. The result is cut-to-cut consistency across every Chiraq slide that leaves the shop.
The slide blank is the Atlas Gun Works Perfect Zero DS1911 slide โ a production-quality steel slide machined to Atlas tolerances. LPWS work begins after the blank is received and inspected. The Chiraq pattern is machined into the blank, the optic cut is added with the Atlas optic plate rail, and the slide is finished in DLC or CrN before shipping.
LPWS offers three machining patterns on the Perfect Zero platform. Each has a distinct visual identity and functional character. Here is how they compare side by side.
| Pattern | Cut Style | Serration Type | Lightening Cut | Best For | Slide Only Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chiraq | Aggressive | Front + rear + side cocking serrations | Topside sculpted relief channel | Competition, open division, full custom builds | $378.50 |
| Urban Warfare | Tactical | Front + rear serrations, angled cuts | Side window cuts | Duty, carry, tactical builds | $375.00 |
| Savant | Clean | Rear serrations, minimal front | Subtle topside relief | Understated competition, everyday carry | $275.00 |
Choose Chiraq if you are building a full competition 2011, an open division USPSA gun, or a custom build where the slide is the visual centerpiece. The Chiraq pattern is the most aggressive of the three and the most distinctly LPWS. It is the pattern that appears on the Islandboy Variant 11.0.
Choose Urban Warfare if you are building a duty or carry 2011 where aggressive competition aesthetics are not appropriate, or if you want a tactical look with full front serration capability for press-checks and administrative handling.
Choose Savant if you want a clean, understated slide that still carries LPWS identity without the competition-aggressive visual of the Chiraq. The Savant is also the lowest-cost option of the three and the most appropriate for builds with a tighter budget.
Every LPWS machining service includes the Atlas optic cut with Atlas optic plate rail. All three patterns accept the same Atlas plate system โ the optic cut geometry is identical across Chiraq, Urban Warfare, and Savant.
The Chiraq machining service is designed around the Atlas Gun Works Perfect Zero 1911 DS build kit. The Perfect Zero is a complete DS1911 parts kit that includes the slide, barrel, frame, and all internal components โ everything needed to complete a double-stack 1911 build. LPWS receives the slide from the kit and machines the Chiraq pattern before the builder assembles the gun.
The builder orders the Perfect Zero build kit from Atlas Gun Works. The serialized frame ships to the builder's FFL dealer. The slide โ which is not serialized and ships directly โ is sent to LPWS for Chiraq machining. LPWS machines the Chiraq pattern, adds the Atlas optic cut, applies the selected finish (DLC or CrN), and ships the completed slide back to the builder. The builder then completes assembly with the remaining kit components.
LPWS also offers barrel porting as an add-on to the Chiraq machining service. The barrel is sent along with the slide, ported after fitting, and returned with the completed slide. This is the most efficient way to get both services done in one turnaround.
The Chiraq Machining + Barrel Porting service is available at $428.00 โ the most popular LPWS service combination for Perfect Zero builders. See the Chiraq + Porting service page.
The Chiraq machining service is optimized for the Atlas Gun Works Perfect Zero DS1911 slide. The toolpaths and fixturing are set up for Atlas slide dimensions. LPWS does not currently offer Chiraq machining on non-Atlas slides as a standard service.
If you are building on a different platform, contact LPWS directly to discuss options. Custom machining on non-standard slides may be available depending on slide geometry and current shop capacity.
The Atlas optic cut uses the Atlas Gun Works optic plate system. Atlas plates are available for most major competition red dots including the Trijicon SRO, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, C-More STS, and similar footprints. The plate system allows optic changes without re-cutting the slide โ the plate indexes to the rail and is secured with two screws.
The optic cut is included in all LPWS machining services. The Atlas plate itself is ordered separately from Atlas Gun Works or can be bundled through LPWS โ see the optic cut service page for current plate options.
The Chiraq Commander Builder Kit at $1,398.20 is a precision-fitted slide and barrel package built entirely in-house by LPWS. These are not Atlas parts โ every component in the kit has been hand-fitted and inspected by LPWS before it ships. Lead time is 60 to 120 days โ built to order.
LPWS-fitted components included: Fitted barrel with LPWS 2-port performance porting built in โ Chiraq-machined slide with Atlas plate optic cut pre-machined โ fitted slide stop โ fitted ejector โ barrel link pin โ barrel link.
The 2-port porting is machined directly into the barrel โ not an add-on. The slide arrives with the Chiraq pattern machined, optic-cut-ready, and with slide stop and ejector already fitted to spec.
Grip, trigger, guide rod, guide rod spring, reverse plug, hammer, hammer strut, extractor, ejector pin, firing pin stop, firing pin, firing pin spring, main spring, pin kit, Atlas optic plate, sear, sear spring, disconnector. All customer-supplied parts must have a protective finish (Cerakote, PVD, or DLC) applied before final assembly.
The slide in this kit is not pre-fitted to a frame. Slide-to-frame fitting is required and must be performed by a qualified gunsmith before the pistol can be safely assembled and fired. This is a builder kit โ it is not a drop-in assembly. LPWS recommends having all final fitting completed by an experienced 2011 pistolsmith.
Trigger: The LPWS Kill Switch F-Series trigger is the recommended pairing for this kit. Engineered for the 2011 platform with a crisp break and short reset designed for both competition and carry builds.
Grips: The LPWS Chiraq DS1911 Metal Grip System is designed to pair directly with this build.
Atlas Optic Plate: Order the correct footprint plate from Atlas Gun Works at perfectzero.co to complete the optic mounting setup.
